Sleaford (5.2 miles) has handy train links along with shops and eateries, while the elegant village of Woodhall Spa (14.5 miles) is home to welcoming cafés, a Lido at Jubilee Park, a golf course and 1920s cinema. You may like to visit Tattershall Castle (10.5 miles), a striking National Trust property famed for its dramatic red-brick towers and fascinating medieval history. Horncastle (19.5 miles), with its antiques and market-town charm, also makes a lovely afternoon out.
