Come stay in our newly renovated contemporary Berkshires home in Sheffield, the oldest town in Berkshire County, just 10 minutes from Great Barrington. Set back from the road on a ½ acre, there is something for everyone - a quiet place to get away from it all, a work/learn from home space or a launch pad to explore all of the beauty, attractions and magic of the Berkshires.
The Berkshires is home to great food and culture - art, theater, antiques, dance, music, film and historic sites, including Tanglewood, the Norman Rockwell Museum and The Mount. For the nature lovers, this house is located in a private, small lake community with a trout fishing pond and a perfect place to launch a kayak. You can hike the Appalachian Trail or the other numerous trails throughout the area, ski (we are 10 minutes from Catamount or 20 minutes from Butternut) or bike the Berkshires. Lake Garfield is one of several nearby accessible lakes for fishing or swimming.
Our house has three bedrooms, two full baths and a cozy office/den. On the first floor, you’ll find a large kitchen and dining area which opens into the living room, a full bathroom and the primary queen bedroom. On the second floor, you’ll find another full bathroom, a second queen bedroom, a bedroom with 2 twin beds (that can be pushed together to make a king), and a wood-paneled office/den that has a pull-out sofa with a queen mattress and two desks. All bedrooms have high-quality mattresses (Saatva, Leesa, Allswell) and bedding (Parachute, Buffy), good lighting and plenty of closet & storage space. We provide linens, towels, table cloths and many extra blankets.
Our home has all modern amenities – brand new ROKU smart TV with cable, high-speed wireless internet and charging stations throughout the house. Spectrum is our cable/internet provider and we have the fastest residential speed available - 400mbps - along with a strong wi-fi network which our guests love for working from home or remote classes.
We love to cook so you’ll find that the kitchen is equipped with everything you’ll need to prepare memorable meals for you and your guests: brand-new stainless-steel cookware and flatware, microwave oven, Misen knives, Kitchenaid mixer plus an Instant Pot, a slow cooker, Cuisinart coffeemaker, coffee grinder, waffle maker and full complement of kitchen tools and accessories. You will find more than a dozen cookbooks if you’re looking for some culinary inspiration. Of course, if you don’t feel like cooking, we’re fortunate to have a rich variety of dining choices throughout the Berkshires (as well as in nearby Litchfield County, CT & Columbia County, NY). In addition to cookbooks, there are another 50 or so books to enjoy along with games & jigsaw puzzles (including a puzzle mat).
On the back deck we have a hot tub spa (available year round) and a Weber gas grill along with a rack for skis and snowboards (which can also hold fishing rods).
There’s a washer/dryer in the mudroom entryway off the kitchen. Name-brand laundry products such as Tide, Persil, All, Oxi, Shout and Lysol sanitizer are used to launder towels and linens.
Each floor has a Blueair Pure 211+ air purifier on which filters the air 5x per hour.
The living room has a window A/C unit and A/C window units are installed in each bedroom for the summer months (June through September).
In the spring of 2021 we installed a new parking area, walkway and outdoor patio. You’ll find an outdoor dining area, fire pit, seating, and corn hole. We're so excited to be able to offer this new outdoor space for our guests to enjoy. The parking area accommodates 4 vehicles. (Please do not park on the grass. If additional parking space is needed, please let us know).
We offer discounts for stays of 1 month or longer. For stays longer than 2 weeks, we require additional housekeeping in order to maintain high standards of cleanliness. Please reach out for more details.
