Promising to impress both adults and children alike, this glass-fronted, quirky holiday gem is equipped with all the essentials for a relaxing stay whilst floating (fully moored!) on the peaceful waters of the Shropshire Union Canal.
Head down the pontoon and step aboard your patio deck and into the pod, where you will find a modern open-plan lounge and wall-mounted television. The kitchenette is equipped with a kettle, microwave, ceramic hob, and integrated electric oven. At the rear of the pod, is a modern double bedroom, shower room, and toilet. Bed linen, towels, and a hair dryer are all provided.
Externally, a narrow deck runs along both sides of the pod and is fully enclosed with railings and a gate, meaning you can sit back and relax and enjoy the open skies and abundance of wildlife that can be found in the Marina.
If you don't fancy cooking during your stay, the on-site Boathouse Cafe provides a good selection of tasty food for breakfast and lunches and is open for evening drinks and dining on the weekends. Please check with your on-site host for opening times, and note they are closed on Mondays.
Located just eight miles south of the historic city of Chester, is the attractive village of Tattenhall, and the tranquil waters of Tattenhall Marina.
A quintessential Cheshire village complete with the local butcher, pharmacy, church, a choice of pubs, children's playground, and several excellent coffee shops; an enjoyable afternoon can be spent in Tattenhall stocking up on essential supplies for your self-catering break.
Just a stone's throw from the Marina, is the World's "Largest Ice-cream shop", the Cheshire Ice cream Farm-a leading visitor attraction that promises to leave ice cream aficionados very content!
When you can't face any more ice cream head further afield and you will find many great days out right on your doorstep. Feed the penguins at Chester Zoo or meander through the elegant Gardens of Cholmondeley Castle, to run wild amongst the treetops at BeWilderwood; this corner of Cheshire has something for everyone.
If swinging through the trees seems a little too energetic, spend the day exploring the welcoming Cathedral city of Chester and stroll the ancient Roman walls that once protected the city from invaders.
Wander the charming streets, and besides a vast array of independent shops, artisan cafes, restaurants, and bars- you will discover an ancient Roman amphitheater, once the stage for many a gladiator fight!
Or for something more serene, retreat to the beautiful, landscaped Roman gardens, home to a miniature railway and adventure playground that will delight the mini explorer! Live theatre, open-air cinema, and concerts are also hosted during the summer months in the park.
From there head down to the River Dee where you can enjoy a leisurely cruise on the Lady Diana or if you are feeling fit, hire a rowing boat and reflect on the varied and attractive architecture that can be found on the riverbanks.
Alternatively, cross the impressive suspension bridge and take a walk through the meadows, or simply sit back and enjoy the atmosphere, and take in the live music that can often be heard on the riverside -wherever your footsteps take you, this vibrant city has much to explore and promises to delight!
