Traditionally, the University of Oxford allowed their students to stable horses, but not the dogs. With nowhere else to house the animals, the proprietor of the local inn offered an invaluable dog-sitting service and the venue became known as the Dog House. Dogs are allowed in the bar and garden areas. please notify the hotel if you are considering bringing a dog, the hotel hosts weddings and functions most weekends. please contact hotel directly to check your required dates, please note that full payment is taken at the time of booking, from november until january the hotel host christmas parties with a disco until midnight, however there may be further noise while guests vacate the restaurant, if booking 5 rooms or more different conditions may apply.
