Positive: Lovely house in a quiet area. Perfect location for where we needed. David is a lovely host, not in your face. Welcoming and friendly. Our room we had was situated overlooking the back garden and neighbours. The room was lovely and clean with crisp bedding. I will point out the bed was squeaky and as a light sleeper, when I or my husband turned in our sleep, I would wake. There is very little can be done with wooden beds, but it was very comfortable. Separate shared toilet and bathroom with shower were both clean and towels and Toiletries were available (although we did take our own, but also did use the towel laid out on the 2nd morning). We had access to park on the driveway. No smoking allowed , however I did enquire about smoking outside and was allowed to. Although I am I light smoker, this was useful and I never litter so always brought it back in with me. We will hopefully be back while our on is at university there.

Negative: There wasn't anything really to not like, however a couple of pointers may be useful for future stayers. The window in the room we stayed in had only the top small window that seemed to open. We tried the larger side window to no avail and didn't want to put too much force on in case was stopped for a reason. I'd suggest either making this known that it doesn't open and having a fan available if needed (it was very hot weather when we went and we just slept on top of the bedding during the night which was pleasant), or taking a look and ensuring it opens at all times. It would be nice if a simple welcome sheet was available to read through with a reminder of rules (not that we needed it, but you never know the guests who are staying). The WiFi details printed or even on a sticker on the mirror/window as although WiFi was available, we couldn't find details of password etc and we didn't want to trouble David with the info as he had a busy night when we arrived so didn't want to interrupt him. Details on how to use the shower as I kept turning the bath on and was reserved about trying other knobs etc in case I unbalanced the water heating or pressure (showers are so different aren't they?). A note to indicate where (if needed) drinking glasses, cups, crockery and cutlery are in the kitchen. There is access to the kitchen and we didn't need to use it, but did take a bottle of wine so had to ask for wine glasses. David was lovely and got them for us, but it would be a little more comfortable if there was a welcome note with directions to which cupboard or even a separate guest cupboard with all things together, so not needing to disturb David. Drinking/wine glasses would be nice in the room on arrival too as an option. Like I said, they're not things to dislike, just things that would be welcomed I feel.
