Summary: I booked this property expecting a private bathroom, as there was no mention of shared shower rooms at the time of booking. Only now, after revisiting the website, do I see that it’s listed as shared—something I’m certain wasn’t disclosed earlier. What’s more frustrating is that the cost was the same as rooms with attached bathrooms, which makes this feel like a poor value. The setup resembles more of a hostel or guest house than a proper hotel. There’s no dedicated parking, and finding a spot on the street is a challenge—you may end up walking quite a distance just to park your car. The house rules are unusually restrictive. You’re not free to come and go as you please, and the owner keeps the keys, which means you have to leave your valuables and keys with them. It felt more like being in a controlled environment than a relaxing stay—almost prison-like in terms of freedom and privacy. For the price I paid (around £40), I expected basic hotel-level facilities and autonomy. Unfortunately, this experience fell far short of that.
