Pure country bliss only 7 miles from Hudson, NY! Our well-appointed farmhouse is perfect for families or friends seeking relaxation and country fun. The property sits on 4 acres with a trout stream running behind it. The house is surrounded by farms and pastures, and sits across from an organic apple orchard. There is ample space to rest and relax, with all the comforts of home.
The space:
Our home has 3BR upstairs, one queen bed, two full beds, and one twin. The beds are extremely comfortable with high thread count sheets, fluffy pillows, and electric bed warmers in winter. The kitchen is fully equipped with high end appliances, dishes, utensils, tools, and pots and pans. You won't find that anything lacking here! :) The living room is spacious and comfortable with a large TV. There is also TV in the master bedroom. We also have great wifi.
Guest access:
Guests have access to the entire property and the creek.
Interaction with guests:
I will not be in the area but will be reachable by phone. We also have a caretaker and housekeeper on call should you need them.
The neighborhood:
Our home is located on a quiet country road in Ghent, NY and is neighbored by beautiful farms. We are within easy access to Hudson (7 miles), Chatham (8 miles), and Hawthorne Valley Farm (which has the best grocery store on earth! 5 miles). There are also 2 great restaurants in nearby Philmont (2 miles) and and excellent lunch place in Ghent. Skiing at Catamount is 15 miles away, with the Berkshires reachable in under an hour.
Getting around:
There is an Amtrak station in Hudson with easy access to NYC. The house is located just off of the Taconic State Parkway and is a 2.5 hour drive from NYC or Boston.
