Summary: Jeff is a great host with excellent communication. The house is large and well appointed. Location is good (if a little noisy from Ocean Ave) ; 15-20 mins walking to downtown Carmel (uphill on the way home so don’t drink too much :)The only real disappointment is the set up of the other rental units. VRBO lists it as “entire place” but there are actually 3 other rental units on the property. They are in really close proximity. For example, the door to the Penthouse is literally outside the patio door where I was watching TV on the couch. It doesn’t create for a very private environment with other guests checking in / out. To be fair, it’s in the property notes but I had not read carefully enough and even if I had I would not have realised the close proximity of other guests ingress / egress (see photo)Finally, at the time we stayed there was still some construction going on that was not disclosed before booking. No biggie but not quite what was represented in the photos online (see my photos).Overall nice place but for the price, I expected more privacy.
