Dive into this area’s rich local history by taking the foot ferry, less than half a mile away, to the coastal village of Bawdsey. Visit Bawdsey Manor and the former RAF radar station, now a museum. Felixstowe, located 3 miles away, boasts a 4-mile sandy beach, seafront gardens, and a range of restaurants, cafes, arts and crafts activities, and traditional seaside amusements. Book and film fans will enjoy a trip to The Treasure Chest Bookstore and The Palace Cinema (a small Art Deco style cinema), both situated in the heart of Felixstowe. The archaeological site Sutton Hoo is 18 miles away, and 12th-century Framingham Castle is well worth a visit (25 miles).
