As the name would imply, this Grade II listed detached cottage was once the village forge. Now fully converted, this characterful property has been transformed by the owner into a truly stunning, stylish and fabulous holiday retreat. Creatively furnished with an eclectic mix of old and new, the emphasis has been placed on style, comfort, peace and relaxation. Equally splendid is the wonderful, mature pretty south and west facing garden which stretches all around the rear of the cottage, and has the charm of a secret garden with 'hidden' areas to explore.
The original blacksmith's fireplace still stands, now with a modern wood burning stove installed, and is the focal feature in the large dining kitchen. A recent extension houses a lovely cosy sitting room with an open fire and french doors overlooking the garden. An inner hallway serves as a cloak/boot room and has access into the rear garden. There's a small study too, with a comfy chair and reading lamp; a perfect space for some quiet time. All on one level, with two king-size bedrooms and two bathrooms, one of which is en-suite with a large freestanding bath, this lovely holiday property will particularly appeal to couples and friends, but is just as suitable for a small family.
Binham is a pretty rural village, set almost entirely within a Conservation Area. There's a good pub, and convenient village store and some atmospheric Benedictine Priory ruins - all just a short walk away. Only three miles inland from the coastal village of Stiffkey, The Old Forge is a perfect base from which to explore all the delights of this beautiful part of North Norfolk either on foot, by bike or by car.
