Nestled in the small village of Willingdon. Home to George Orwell’s novel Animal Farm, you will find The Niche. Set against the backdrop of the National South Downs, we have lovingly renovated our Arts & Crafts home. Offering award winning Bed & Breakfast, individually styled rooms providing flexible accommodation for parties of up to six people. Our concept is simple... Genuine warmth & hospitality, set in elegant surrounds with extra touches of luxury to surprise and delight our guests.
Our Royal Pavilion room hosts a gilded king size bed and elegant french furniture. The en-suite accommodation being very spacious, has a large walk in rain shower in addition to a villeroy and boch double ended bath.
Egyptian cotton bedding, with a choice of pillows to aid a good nights sleep as well as waffle robes & slippers. Wifi, flat screen tv with access to movie and box set streaming. The en-suite offers a choice of Molten Brown body washes and we even have you covered just incase you've forgotten your toothbrush. Mini fridge, bottled water, welcome drinks and sweet treats are also available in the rooms. Our room rate includes a comprehensive breakfast menu as well as in room tea and coffee making facilities.
In addition to the bedroom, we have a cosy lounge for guests to relax in should you wish. It also has a wonderful open fire place and is perfect for relaxing and unwinding. During warmer months we have a large deck to make use of with garden sofas and makes the perfect spot to take breakfast on sunny mornings. Alternatively, breakfast is served in our open plan livin-kitchen each morning. All spaces we have described our guests are free to use and enjoy! We are both very sociable, as is our miniature schnauzer called Bertie. We also appreciate our guests may just want to do their own thing and have some quality time to themselves. Either way it’s about you enjoying your time with us at The Niche, in whichever way you choose! We will do our very best to accommodate any specific dietary requirements you may have for breakfast if highlighted at the time of booking. An early check-in option may also be available should you require it for a £15 supplement, payable upon arrival.
We have two local inns in the village, the first being a two minute walk serving local ales. The second a further two minutes along has an excellent extensive food menu. The heart of the village also has an award winning Thai restaurant, booking strongly recommended. For those wanting to get some fresh air our home is situated at the foot of Butts Brow which is an excellent walk offering panoramic views of Eastbourne and the surrounding countryside.
