Welcome to the Westlake Woodland Retreat. Located just ten minutes from downtown Austin in beautiful West Lake Hills. Westlake Woodland Retreat is like a tree house in the woods. This private estate sits on a one-acre wooden lot and is a great escape among the deer and the trees, while only minutes from the hustle of downtown Austin. Your stay at the Westlake Woodland Retreat allows you access to a well-tended walking/hiking trail bordered by the creek on two adjacent wooded lots.

This welcoming split-level home features four outside decks and two stone fireplaces. 3 upstairs bedrooms (king, queen and 2 twin beds), a large sunny, sunken living room, indoor and outdoor dining areas and the kitchen are all in one big open space. Downstairs has an office/playroom, a large family room, a private queen bedroom suite, a small kitchen, full bath and a deck that wraps around the entire downstairs floor with access from every room.

Summary: We just finished spending our third summer at this property and again had a wonderful stay. If you are looking for a modern, shiny experience, this won't be for you. But if you want a comfortable, well-furnished place where you can just get away from it all, while still having very convenient access to downtown, look no further. And even though this is an older property, the owner is continually making improvements. This year, these include a new refrigerator, washer, and dryer, and also a completely repaved driveway. It's still a bit steep, but now nice and smooth. We've always had great communication with the property manager and would definitely recommend this place.
