There are stunning scenic views and many walks accessible from your doorstep including a lovely riverside route to nearby Elterwater which is one of the most beautiful spots in the whole of the Lake District. The popular tourist hotspot of Ambleside has an abundance of shops, bars, restaurants, cafés and coffee houses. For touring by car or exploring the Lakes, the A593 leads you effortlessly to Ambleside on the northern shore of Lake Windermere then continue south to take in Bowness-on-Windermere and Kendal or north through Rydal and Grasmere to Keswick and Derwentwater.
