The Snowdonia National Park starts on top of the Berwyns, and you will find many places to visit for a day trip, including a white-water rafting centre, sailing at Lake Bala, Bounce Below, and Zip World at Blaenau Ffestiniog. A visit to Shropshire is only a 20-minute drive away, where you will find the Severn Valley Railway, RAF Museum Cosford, along with the Ironbridge Gorge World Heritage Site. Medieval Powys Castle (National Trust) in Welshpool is a 30-minute drive and has a world-famous garden, or you could visit the charming town of Montgomery, a 45-minute drive, which offers beautiful scenery and walks. The West Wales coastline is only an hour’s drive with lovely sandy beaches.
