Whatever the season, the farm is a haven for wildlife and nature lovers will be able to watch for swallows nesting in the barns, kingfishers on the moat, hares in the fields and barn owls in the woods. Children will adore the chance to bottle-feed lambs in the lambing season. There are also fresh eggs to collect from the nesting boxes.

The historic market town of Bungay (six miles) has beautiful castle ruins to explore and some delicious local cheese. For a traditional seaside experience, head to Southwold (14 miles) with your buckets, spades, and water sports gear. Bird and nature lovers must head to RSPB Minsmere (17 miles), where there is something for all the family among the walks, wildlife, and Wild Wood Adventure.
