Westbrook Beach is literally on your doorstep, it is a lot less busy than the main sands and preferred by locals. Also nearby is a Tesco Metro supermarket, bike hire shop, Ales of The Unexpected micro pub serving local ales and beers, several and takeaways and a great curry house and Strokes Mini Golf.
Just a 5–10-minute walk along the prom is Margate Main Sands with its 200 meters of sandy beach, tidal pool, children's rides and amusement arcades. Margate's hip Old Town is worth a visit too, with its speciality shops, pubs and restaurants. The Harbour Arm also has a great selection of bars and eateries.
