The ancient market town of Langport lies at the heart of the Somerset levels, at the crossing point of the River Parrett, mid-way between the county town of Taunton and Yeovil. The surrounding countryside teeming with pretty villages and quiet country lanes with footpaths and cycle trails to explore the picturesque Somerset Levels. Somerset is rich in wildlife and is one of the country's top areas for birdwatching. It also offers a heritage railway, where visitors can take a trip on longest standard gauge line in the country.
