There is also an attractive marina and a lively working harbour from where you can take a boat trip to the nearby RSPB bird sanctuary of Coquet Island during summer months. A short drive north will take you to the picturesque villages of Warkworth, Alnmouth and Craster. You can also explore Northumberland's ever popular county town of Alnwick with its impressive castle, enchanting tree house and extensive gardens.
