2 Bedroom Cottage in Sticklepath, Drewsteignton
This detached cottage converted from a Victorian barn is situated on a large beef and sheep farm just over a mile from the Devon village of Drewsteignton which offers it own local pub which is community owned and run. With an upside down layout, it is an exceptionally peaceful place to relax and enjoy the peace and unpolluted night skies. Steps from the garden take you into the open plan oak-floored living space, light and airy with seating area with wood burning stove, dining area and kitchen. Stairs lead you down to the two en suite bedrooms and a useful space for leaving coats and boots after lovely countryside walks. The enclosed garden is a great spot to chill out and gaze at long rural views to Dartmoor whilst you cook on the barbecue and eat alfresco. You will have worked up an appetite by walking the fields or perhaps going a little further afield to the open spaces of Dartmoor. You are welcome to bring your rods to fish for carp in the small farm pond. Surrounded by spectacular scenery and with the little town of Chagford and Exeter city within easy reach, Bowbeer Barn is a great central spot for exploring Devon.
Drewsteignton sits high above the River Teign as it meanders through a spectacular steep wooded Teign Gorge. It is a chocolate box village with a cluster of ancient cob and thatched cottages surrounding a square, complete with an ancient church.
