Summary:
Old Stone Cottage is a beautiful two-bedroom cottage in Pateley Bridge. Sleeping up to four guests, the cottage has recently been refurbished to a high stand and it is ideal for families and groups of friends. The well thought out design of the cottage means that it has many features included such as a 'boot room', whilst the original stone walls remain prevalent throughout the property. Old Stone Cottage is also a great base for enjoying the best of this beautiful area as you’ll have easy access to all walking routes in and around Pateley Bridge and Nidderdale including the Nidderdale Way, as well various local attractions across the Yorkshire Dales.
The Space:
The open-plan living, dining, and kitchen area dominates the ground floor space at Old Stone Cottage. The living area has a comfy sofa and armchair, great for relaxing in front of the flat-screen TV equipped with Freeview and Netflix in the evening. You’ll also find a log-burning fireplace which is stocked up with supplies during the colder months.
The dining area consists of a neat table and seating for all guests staying in the cottage, and with the fully equipped kitchen directly behind this, the layout couldn’t be better.
Also downstairs is the bathroom which is an immaculate space fitted with a large shower, a wash basin, and a WC.
Old Stone Cottage’s first bedroom is a pleasant space featuring a king-size bed, a dressing table/desk, and even a printer allowing you to get a little bit of work done whilst on holiday. You’ll also have access to plug sockets at the bedside. Please note that the bed in this room can be split into two singles upon request.
The second bedroom is a decent size, furnished with a double bed. The room has a skylight window, bringing in plenty of natural light throughout the day.
In terms of outside space, you’ll find a shared courtyard at the rear of the cottage that also boasts a power supply should it be required.
Host & Stay are committed to our owners that their homes are protected during bookings. For this reason, we require all of our guests to transfer a £250.00 Damage Deposit (subject to a £10.00 administration charge) or, to purchase an Accidental Damage Waiver for £25.00 which will cover you for up to £500.00 of accidental damage during your stay.
Guest Access:
Guests have access to the full property. The keys to the property are accessed via a secure key safe and full details will be provided shortly before your arrival date.
Free on-street parking is available on a first-come, first served basis outside Old Stone Cottage.
Please note that pets are strictly not permitted to stay at Old Stone Cottage.
BBQ's can not be used at Old Stone Cottage.
Smoking or vaping is strictly not prohibited in Old Stone Cottage.
The Neighborhood:
Experience all the charms of rural life in the delightful little town of Pateley Bridge. As the starting point of the Nidderdale Way it is the perfect place to begin your exploration of the Yorkshire Dales. This circular route covers 53 miles, looping around the stunning scenery of the Nidd Valley, get lost in the landscapes and enjoy an area which is renowned for its floral beauty.
With a collection of independent shops and quant tea shops to enjoy your morning cuppa and a slice of homemade cake, Pateley bridge is a welcoming town with character in abundance. For those with a sweet tooth you can visit the oldest sweet shop in England for your midget gems or lemon sherbets.
For history fans you can visit the Nidderdale Museum and explore the cobbler’s shop, school room and a collection of relics and artefacts depicting the Yorkshire way of life.
No matter what the season you can enjoy a whole host of things to see and do in this stunning Yorkshire dales town.
Getting Around:
Getting around the Yorkshire Dales is quick and convenient with the towns and villages located so close together. Enjoy the beautiful countryside as you cross valleys, rise up over hills and wind round the country roads.
From Pateley Bridge take the No. 24 bus, known as the ‘Nidderdale Branch’ which takes an idyllic route along the River Nidd into Nidderdale loosely following the old railway line, and stopping in the pretty villages that line the length of the Valley as it turns from rolling hills to steep fells and moorland.
The historic town of Knaresborough and the mediaeval city of Ripon each have several services an hour to and from Harrogate so no planning is necessary, just catch a bus and go.
The nearest train station to Pateley Bridge is Harrogate, which is approximately 14 miles away. Regular trains to Harrogate are available from either York or Leeds mainline stations.
